Sutter Health Park is the home of the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants since 2015. Sutter Health Park was built on the site of old warehouses and railyards in West Sacramento, California, across the Sacramento River from the California State Capitol. It is directly adjacent to downtown Sacramento.
Unable to receive the level of service the River Cats wanted from their previous hospitality provider, the organization hired RS3 to transition their operation into a truly self-op model, allowing them to put a cornerstone piece of their business back into their own control while also capturing both incremental and organic fiscal growth.
Our role involved the vetting of key management positions for the newly developed strategic hospitality department, including multiple interviews with candidates. We provided branded concepts, now owned by the River Cats, as well as the menu creation and menu engineering that resulted in double-digit (12.5%) YOY per capita growth. Our graphic design department also developed and implemented the suite menu, concept logos and digital menu board design.
Most importantly, our visiting management team applied the “zipper effect” while onsite, aligning with the new River Cats’ managers for a week, giving them specific contacts to shadow and learn from.
